Cheshire Student Parking Information for 2010/11

Can I drive to uni next year?
A combination of environmental concerns and limited space on the Crewe campus has meant that students who want to park on campus will need to apply for a permit. The permit will allow students to search for an available space without charge, on a daily basis. Permits will exceed the number of spaces so please plan your travel and consider all options before deciding to drive to uni.

How do I apply?
Applications open from early September to mid October.  Fill in the application form online at www.mmu.ac.uk/student/travel. All requests will be addressed on a needs basis. A temporary permit will be issued to applicants on a first come first served basis, there will be a limited number of temporary permits and if you do not receive one you will have to park off campus or find alternative travel means while all applications are considered. If your application is unsuccessful you will no longer be allowed to park on campus. There is however an appeals procedure for unsuccessful applications. Your elected student officers will be involved in making the decisions at all levels www.mmunion.co.uk/yourunion/meettheofficers

What if I live in halls?
If you live in Davenport, Barlow or Harley Halls there will be no car parking available. At Booth Hall there is a secure car park available at a cost of £180 per year but this doesn’t allow for parking on the actual campus. Buy online on a first come first served basis at https://buyonline.mmu.ac.uk

I am a disabled student, how do I get to uni?

It is really important that you apply for a permit, however any European Blue Badge holder who applies will automatically qualify. There are a number of dedicated spaces for disabled drivers, please click on the map to find out where.

If you have any further questions regarding student parking at MMU please contact studentparkingpermit@mmu.ac.uk or contact 0161 247 2989.
